• measuring Glutamatergic correlates of neural activity

Neurophysiology

• Investigating the acute physiologic affects of hypoxia on cerebrovascular, neurochemical and metabolic function in the brain. These studies involve:
  • utilizing arterial spin labeling to measure cerebral blood flow
  • BOLD imaging to measure changes to neurovascualr coupling,
  • Proton MRS investigations of excitatory and inhibitory neurometabolites
  • functional MRS to probe neural activity independent of vascular complications
